How to optimize your video settings for Call of Duty Warzone
If you have taken a look at the settings in Warzone you know that the graphics tab has seemingly endless different options. In our guide we show you which ones actually matter and should be customized for your performance.
Adjust basic settings on your system
We begin with setting up your system outside of the game. If you have a monitor that can display more than 60 frames per seconds you need to make sure that your system settings actually allow it to do so.
To get to that option right click on your desktop and pick the Nvidia or AMD Radeon settings that should show up. You can also access the menu through the taskbar.
Navigate to the display settings and check the refresh rate. Choose the highest rate that your monitor supports.
There is one more Windows setting to get in order before we look at the in-game options. Open your control panel and the energy options within. Make sure that it is set to high performance to get the maximum amount of power out of your system.
Basic in-game settings
One of the most important factors for a fluid game experience is a high framerate per second (FPS). A 144Hz monitor sounds nice but does not benefit you if your actual framerate in-game is only between 40 or 50 FPS. In order to find out how high your rate is you can active the FPS counter option in the general tab of the options. Now you can permanently see your current FPS during gameplay.
If you are not playing on a brand-new rig you probably cannot utilized the highest details. Here are a couple of tips to optimize performance on your system.
First you should check that the game is also using the framerate of your monitor. To prevent stuttering when FPS is unstable you should also activate V-Sync.
This limits your FPS in-game to the predetermined framerate which you can setup right underneath.
If you have a Nvidia graphics card you can also access the options Nvidia Highlights and Nvidia Reflex. To get the best performance with a minimum of distraction you should disable the Highlights, while activating Reflex and boosting it as well.
Finetuning performance
When scrolling further down you now find the options that influence the visuals and FPS the most: Texture Resolution, Particle Quality, Tesselation, Shadow Map Resolution and Anti-Aliasing
Within these options you need to find the best compromise between visuals and performance for yourself. If you have stable 144 FPS you can tune those options higher, but if you want to maximize performance you should either set everything to low or disabled.

Overview and Gameplay optimization
The correct settings for gameplay optimization are a bit easier to determine. Scroll down to the bottom and disable all motion blur settings.
Filmic Strength and Depth of Field should also be turned off for clarity. The less filters are on the clearer you can spot enemies. After those settings you have finished the most important adjustments in the graphics tab.
However there are also some setting in the general tab that you should finetune. Field of Vision and Brightness are the options to look for here. While a large field of vision seems tempting at first it also has the downside of shrinking details and opponents. Therefore you should aim for a value between 95 and 110, but you also need to keep your performance in mind as Field of Vision can be demanding on your system.
If you are not playing the campaign you should tune Brightness all the way up to 100% to make it easier to spot enemies in dark corners. You will lose out on the atmosphere, but better that than a quick trip to the Gulag because you did not see someone in time.
