Starting February 16 we’ll get to see some top-tier CS:GO action again at IEM Katowice 2021. Let’s take a look at all the teams and the upcoming schedule.
Eight of the teams received a direct invite based on the amount of points they’ve acquired in the Road to Katowice. These teams are Heroic, Team Vitality, Astralis, Natus Vincere, G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, FURIA Esports and Evil Geniuses. A stacked playing field to say the least. They’ll be joined by eight more teams following the conclusion of a play-in stage, which features some other prominent names such as Team Liquid, Fnatic, BIG and OG.
We already know the schedule and matchups for the play-in stage, where the lower side of the bracket is looking particularly competitive. We’ll get to see some great matches to start things of in round 1, with the most interesting ones being Team Liquid facing MIBR, OG taking on Fnatic and Ninjas in Pyjamas taking on Complexity. Depending on the results we might already see some top tier CS:GO in the second round of the Upper Bracket.
Fans can watch IEM Katowice 2021 over at the ESL CS:GO Twitch channel, with the entirety of the play-in stage being played over the course of two days, namely February 16 and 17. The group stage is set to kick off on February 18, while the playoffs get started on February 26, concluding on February 28.
