Jamppi explained his reasoning behind the move in a video he posted to Twitter, pointing to the VAC ban he received and the mental aspect behind it. “It’s like a fresh start for me, just mentally as well obviously. I knew I could be one of the best players and compete against the best, but with the ban and everything, I think it’s just going to be a fresh start. I think, and I hope, there’s nothing that can stop me.”
The young Finn received a VAC ban on one of his old steam accounts when he was fourteen, which makes it so he can’t compete in Valve-sponsored tournaments. He went on to file a lawsuit against Valve to get the ban removed after he was reportedly close to signing for OG, but Valve refused to (temporarily) lift it. His VAC ban is one of the biggest reasons for Jamppi to pursue a career in VALORANT.
Jamppi most notably played for ENCE in 2020 but was moved to the inactive roster as the organization decided to bring in some new talent, which led him to pursue other options. With the switch, he joins the long list of players that have taken the step from CS:GO to VALORANT in the recent year.
