Jesse Lingard (Manchester United) enters world of esports and announces ‘JLINGZ esports’
With JLINGZ esports, Lingard is dipping his toe into esports. The midfielder aquires Audacity Esports and rebrands this to his own JLINGZ esports. You could have heard from this team, since they competed in the Rainbow Six Siege competition of Ireland and the UK. They competed under the team ‘Team JLE’ and will continue to be active in this competition.
Lingard is not afraid to show some ambition. Although the team will start out in the UKIN Second Division, the football player has his sights on success. He said he wants to eventually create a legacy squad within Rainbow Six Siege and hopefully qualify for the 2022 European Challenger League.
“Esports has everything”
The midfielder is very excited to get into the world of esports. “To finally dive into esports is incredible,” he says. “Esports has everything for me. It’s fast-paced and competitive, the community is amazing and it’s been great to have Ubisoft’s support on this journey.”
Jesse Lingard adds himself to the ongoing list of football players who step into esports. Some pretty big names like Gareth Bale (Ellevens Esports) and David Beckham (Guild Esports) are already invested in the growing market of professional gaming.
