Kings Canyon is a disaster and fans are begging Respawn for big changes
Labeled by many as a nightmare to play on, Kings Canyon has lost much of the appeal it had. The game of 2021 is not the same as it was when it first launched, and despite Respawn Entertainment already trying to spruce up the map with new POIs, but those are too few and far in between.
Sure, updating the map has helped with the lore building in Apex, but there are still a few big problems with the map. And when it gets pushed as the only map you can play ranked on, that’s a red flag.
There are only a few interesting spots to drop. The loot density still draws from the first seasons, when the gun diversity was lacking. Imagine half of the lobby dropping in the same spot, and you’ll know why players don’t like it.
Then there’s the problem of getting third partied. While a good 3rd party is inevitably part of the game, the size of Kings Canyon has degraded the ranked experience to mostly just that. There are teams taking third zone damage so they can just swoop in after a fight and get that KP.
It’s either that or just facing a full Predator team (the highest rank in the game) that’s been hiding in a building.
