More details released about VALORANT’s newest Agent

Earlier today, VALORANT developers released their monthly update ‘State of the Agents’ and released new information of the upcoming Agent. Along with addressing changes to KAY/O, Yoru, and more, Riot developers referenced Agent 18.

The Agent, codenamed Deadeye, has been in the works and teased ever since the first images of their new map, Fracture, were leaked. In the State of the Agents address, the developers confirmed that this new addition would be a Sentinel. In their release, it was said that “We took a step back and thought about different ways to provide another Sentinel to the roster.”

Agent 18 will be a Sentinel that supposedly focuses on ‘mechanical outplays’ and precise gunplay. We don’t know any details about Agent 18’s kit or abilities, but these statements and his concept art could give a hint regarding his design philosophy. In the only available image of Deadeye, we see him carrying a large rifle. This could allude to the ‘gunplay’ elements that developers emphasized during their address.

Alongside these vague details, we also got an ominous with the State of the Agents update. Below the information about Agent 18 is a photo of coffee, still steaming hot and a card. Many have used this teaser image to deduce the Agent’s potential nationality. Many claim that Deadeye will either be the first French or Italian Agent in the game. While much is uncertain currently about Agent 18, these details are only preludes for what is to come.
