Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen, who was signed by North in January 2020, will be testing the waters of free agency as he’s being released from his former contract.
MSL made the announcement on Twitter, saying he’s available as a free agent and is seeking out new opportunities, but would also be open to start up an entirely new team. “I have come to an agreement with north, which now makes me a free agent. I’m now both looking into joining an existing stable team – but considering the high quality of talent available right now, I also see a unique opportunity of starting a team from scratch.”
Earlier this month North announced they’d be ceasing operations and shutting down, leaving their current players without a team to represent. North had been struggling not only due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in-game, as their form was at an all-time low. After multiple roster moves that didn’t pan out the way they were intended, the team eventually ended.

MSL had been on the bench at North since November 2020, when the organization brought in some new talent, but will now have the opportunity to prove himself elsewhere. He has a long-standing career in Counter-Strike: Source and CS:GO, playing for teams such as Copenhagen Wolves, Dignitas and Rogue as well. He’ll look towards this opportunity to blow new life into his career after a period of inactivity.
