Netflix launches gaming on their mobile platform

Netflix announced their new gaming branch in a press release, where they also went on to clarify how things will work. For those people who want to make use of the service, all they need is a Netflix subscription and all the games will be included without ads, additional fees or in-app purchases. While some of the games will need you to be connected to Wi-Fi, other options allow you to play offline as well within your app.

With their first step into gaming, Netflix mostly focused on mobile games which will be available on Android devices anywhere, meaning their current selection is quite limited right now. “Starting today, members everywhere can play five mobile games: Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Frosty Pop).”

Improving their gaming branch seems to be something Netflix is very interested in, so it’s likely we’ll see more games in the future, even outside of mobile titles. “Just like our series, films and specials, we want to design games for any level of play and every kind of player, whether you’re a beginner or a lifelong gamer. And we’re just getting started. We’re excited to continue improving our mobile gaming experience and adding to our entertainment offering in the months ahead.”
