New Agent trailer confirms Kay/o’s abilities and ultimate

In an Agent introduction video released by Riot Games, we got our first look at Kay/o’s official kit.

VALORANT’s 17th Agent was finally confirmed after a week of teaser and ominous hints. The new, robotic Agent was confirmed earlier today by an introduction video showcasing both the Agent’s design and full kit. Kay/o will be VALORANT’s fourth initiator, as his kit certainly lends itself to starting off fights.

In general, Kay/o has a fairly basic kit compromised of a flashes and mollies. Suppression Blade is certainly among their most interesting features. The ability shoots out a knife that sticks onto the first surface it his, suppressing anyone caught in it’s radius.

Flash/Drive is flash grenade that blinds anyone caught in the line of sight. This ability to reported to have a ‘charged’ ability which shortens the fuse to 1 second as opposed to the regular 1.6 seconds. Frag/ment is an explosive grenade that deals lethal damage. True to the name, the grenade has several bursts of damage, similar to Raze’s ability.

Kay/o’s ultimate is certainly what could make this Agent a potentially excellent initiator. Null/CMD ‘overloads’ the Agent, providing him an combat stim (similar to Brimstone’s) but most importantly gives a revive opportunity. Should Kay/o be killed while the ultimate is active, he enters a ‘destabilized state’ where his allies can revive him.

This ability alone gives Kay/o incredible entry frag ability, essentially providing the aggressing team with a ‘free’ peak. When paired with his other abilities, Kay/o may be chief among initiators for his take and re-take abilities.
