New lawsuit for Activision Blizzard as female employee alleges sexual harassment

The new lawsuit was first reported by Bloomberg. According to the lawsuit, an employee was sexually harassed and discriminated while working for Activision Blizzard and after speaking out, she faced retaliation. One of the biggest issues reported is the previously criticized ‘frat boy culture’ that was rampant at the company, saying this culture fostered sexism and harassment. The employee worked at Activision Blizzard since 2017 as a senior administrative assistant to IT executives.

The employee, called ‘Jane Doe’ in the lawsuit, recounts stories how she was often pressured to consume alcohol, had to perform so-called ‘cube crawls’ where women were groped and demeaned and was forced to stay late at the office to play ‘Jackbox’, a party video game which according to the lawsuit was often turned sexual. As a result, Doe started dressing more conservatively. When she complained about the issues to leadership, they brushed it off as her coworkers just ‘being friendly’.

The demands of the lawsuit included the firing of Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick and the implementation of a rotating human resources department to prevent the issues the employee faced. Activision BLizzard themselves have yet to respond to the lawsuit.
