Renata Glass will be the 159th champion to hit League of Legends and with the announcement, the earlier leaks that were shown in TeamFight Tactics were proven true. Riot already gave us some insight into the character through a website promoting her product, now being confirmed that she’s the ‘Baroness of Chemicals’, which also reflects on her gameplay.
In the end it was also revealed that Renata Glasc will be a support champion, who uses her advanced technological abilities to help out teammates while also disrupting her enemies. Her abilities include her using her robotic hands to throw enemies, using chemtech rockets to damage and slow as well as using chemicals in her ultimate to make enemies go berserk, forcing them to use auto-attacks on everything around them.
Abilities:
Q – Handshake
Renata uses her robotic arm as a missile which roots the first enemy it hits. Reactivating it will throw the enemy in a direction she chooses. If she throws a champion, it gets stunned.
W – Bailout
Boosts Attack Speed and Movement Speed (moving towards enemies) of herself and an ally. If the ally manages to get a takedown, the buff gets a rest, allowing for quick damage output and gap closing. If the ally dies with Bailout active he gets full health again and begins deteriorating over three seconds. If it can get in a kill in that timeframe, the deterioration (in the form of a burn) stops.
E – Loyalty Program
Shoot out Chemtech Rockets, damaging and slowing enemies while shielding allies it moves through.
R – Hostile Takeover
Renata launches a cloud of chemicals towards the enemy, forcing them to auto-attack everything around them while increasing their attack speed. Priority of attack: Allies, neutral units, enemy team, Renata specifically.
Passive – Leverage
Renata’s basic attacks are able to mark enemies, which will deal bonus damage. Ally attacks consume the marks, dealing additional damage in the process.

Earlier last week a Chinese version of TFT apparently gave us some more insight into the new champion, as the name ‘Renata’ and some visuals were shown. Riot Games hasn’t confirmed the information yet, but signs that she’ll be the next champion are getting stronger and stronger, especially as they seemingly want to continue the theme of Zaunian or Zaun-based champions.
Now a new website was released which showcases ‘Glasc Industries’, which tells about the Chem Baron Renata Glasc. With Riot Games saying last year that one of the new champions will be a Chem Baron, it’s likely that Renata will be added to the game. The website gives some insight and lore into Renata Glasc. “Renata Glasc was inspired by her family’s alchemical practice to improve life across Zaun and Piltover alike. For the last 30 years, her visionary work has touched civil development, tech, and philanthropy, collaborating with both citizens and chem barons to keep the streets safe.”
It’s currently still unclear what role the champion will be fulfilling on the rift, but it does seem like technology, which she likely acquired due to her massive wealth, will play a big role in her themes and abilities. Another possibility is her utilizing ‘Poison Gas’, which is mentioned on the website, as well as the chemistry products the website offers. We’ll have to wait and see until Riot Games dishes out some more information on the champion.
