New Pokémon UNITE patch finally buffs Gardevoir, nerfs Greedent

As the second season of ranked play in Pokémon UNITE is getting started, the developer behind the game, TiMi Studios, is making use of the opportunity to make some of the Pokémon a little stronger, as they were lacking in balance. We also see some buffs to some of the items.

Pokémon Buffs & Nerfs

Buff: Gardevoir

While Gardevoir hasn’t received a buff in straight-up damage, she did get the cooldown of her primary attacking move Psychic buffed, alongside increased secondary effects.

Buff: Alolan Ninetales

Alolan Ninetales received quite a sizable buff. Alongside a direct increase in the Special Attack stat, Blizzard saw both its damage and cooldown reduced.

Nerf: Greedent

Greedent has been wreaking havoc ever since its release into the game and TiMi is toning him down a tad. His HP recovery through Cheek Pouch got cut down as well as reducing his damage through Belch by both a direct nerf as well as an increased cooldown. The shield provided by Stuff Cheeks is also less potent.

Other changes

Besides the buffs and nerfs to certain Pokémon, two items were also given some buffs. The HP recovery provided by the regular Potion was increased, while the movement speed buff you gain from using X Speed was also increased further. The patch also features quite a few bug fixes, again mostly involving Greedent, but also fixing bugs that made certain items or abilities not activate under some instances.
