New Warzone Map – These are the changes in Verdansk ’84

Season 3 has introduced massive changes to Verdansk as we moved to the new map Verdansk ’84. Some of the famous spots on the map changed, while many new Points of Interest (POI) were implemented.

The general layout has not changed much, but here are the new ares of Verdansk ’84:

Gora Summit and Viadukt - The Verdansk dam used to be here but has now been replaced by a giant bridge and two command centers. The biggest change on the map is the summit. A frozen lake used to be here, but now players will find a deep gorge with a command center in the middle. Fights here are very vertical and very much so inspired by Black Ops 1
Old Mine - A complete new POI in the northwest of the map. What used to be just a forest is now an abandoned mine. Just like the bunkers in Verdansk the complex seems to have a large subterranean facility within. It will most likely unlock at a later date.
Array - Array is one of the obvious changes to the old map. The large steel construct is a good place to orient yourself with. Loot is not really spread around it.
Factory - The second completely new POI is the factory near the superstore. It consists of four large halls filled with airplane parts. Next to those you can find another hangar and several smaller spots with loot.
Salt Mine - The old Quarry has received a facelift. The Salt Mine enlarges the area and also opens up more buildings for player access. In the future the POI will most likely have plenty of loot and lead to more players dropping here.
Downtown - Downtown\'s general layout has not changed much, but the important tower in the city centre has not yet been completed. You can access more floors here and also use the crane next to the building as vantage point.
Airport - The Airport is largely unchanged. There is still a roof on the main building, which will make attacks from above a lot more unlikely.
TV Station - The TV station has not changed much. One new addition is the satellite dish on the roof. Otherwise it is mostly a graphical update only.
Stadium - The stadium is still in the same place, but the \'84-version only has the playing field as well as the ranks. The high roof and many catacombs are not present.
Standoff - The farmland has seen quite some changes. There is a new chapel inspired by the old map Standoff. This is also the location for one of the \"Hunt for Adler\" eventmissions.
Superstore - The Atlas Superstore has been tidied up and remains one of the best loot points on the map. Don\'t forget that there will also be more people coming from the new Factory POI in Verdansk \'84.
Bunker - The bunkers are also returning to the map. But they are all still locked as of now, something that will most likely change throughout the season.

Not much is left over from the old Verdansk. Don’t forget that Verdansk ’84 also removed all weapons from Modern Warfare. You will need to get those delivered to you if you want to keep using your trusty firearms from the previous Call of Duty.
