Twitch has seen a massive movement of some of their top streamers, with figures such as DrLupo and TimTheTatman leaving Twitch for YouTube. Largely, audiences have followed these creators over platforms and severely hindered Twitch’s claim to the top spot of streaming websites. Twitch dodged what would have been another massive hit by re-signing Nicholas “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, keeping him and his audience on Twitch.
When you're about the big life, you're in it all the way.
NICKMERCS is one of the largest streamers in North America. Primarily featuring battle royale games, from Fornite to Call of Duty Warzone, NICKMERCS has amassed an audience of over 6 million on Twitch.
During NICKMERCS’ short break from streaming, rumors swirled over whether or not he would join the many other content creators jumping ship to YouTube. Twitch managed to lock down the content creating giant for an undisclosed amount of time. NICKMERCS has yet to announce when he will return to streaming, but whenever he does it will be back on Twitch.
Despite being on break, NICKMERCS has only continued to make headlines in the gaming and esports community. Recently, the streamer not only became a content creator for FaZe Clan but also found a position as Co-Owner of the massive gaming organization. Along with this, NICKMERCS became the first streamer to partner with Under Armor and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Twitch’s official announcement came earlier today, as NICKMERCS dawned his signature Spartan uniform. With the Twitch logo on his sword, NICKMERCS made it clear that he is still a Twitch streamer.
