NiP forced to play with packet loss during Flashpoint 3 opening game against Anonymo
The NiP CS:GO team took to Twitter after losing to Anonymo -with Snax- in their opening game of Flashpoint Season 3 voicing their disappointment.
Flashpoint has seen its fair share of Twitter drama. It seems like every season different problems surface, and the tournament organizer has received more than a few angry tweets.
Things took a turn for the worse after the NiP vs Anonymo game, that saw the Polish team take a 2-1 victory in Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz’ debut.
We lose to anonymo, very shitty conditions and I must state my absolute fucking disappointment with faceits amateur handling of the situation.
It’s not the first time players take to Twitter after losing a game, but it’s not common at all to see players having to play with 30%-40% packet loss, endangering the integrity of competitive play.
Issues still not solved and we are being forced to play through with massive loss due to server issues Lost us map 2 and will loose us map 3, game is unplayable.
We are connecting to other servers with no loss. This game should have been stopped on map 1. Esports in 2021.
According to the tweets, NiP was forced to play the second and third maps in abysmal circumstances. The problems started a few rounds into Overpass, when the game was paused to resolve the issues.
The problems got so bad it triggered an official statement from the NiP organization explaining what had happened, and how unhappy they were with how the situation was handled.
Unlike NiP, Anonymo didn’t suffer from the packet loss issue. The problem seemed to be the routing to the German Faceit servers, as other German servers did not give the Swedish team any problems.
A proposal to change to non-Faceit servers was slapped down by Flashpoint staff, although Anonymo agreed to that proposal, showing true sportsmanship.
NiP even got their internet provider involved and tried using VPNs to resolve the issue, to no avail.
The loss knocked NiP into the lower bracket, where they will face HYENAS tomorrow.
