Nivera joins his brother ScreaM on Team Liquid for VALORANT
Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom announced that he would be joining Team Liquid’s VALORANT squad. Nivera’s brother, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, has been a part of the organization since its initial foray into the VALORANT esports scene. Both brothers came from a Counter-Strike background but have now transitioned into Riot’s tactical FPS.
Nivera was largely regarded as the ‘first’ player to compete as a sixth man for Vitality. For Vitality, Nivera was a part of several championship winning rosters, however the team decided to committee to a complete five-man roster. During Nivera’s free agency, there were plenty of rumors surround his potential switch to VALORANT, with Team Liquid being an obvious potential destination.
This roster transfer came mere hours after the team announced James “Kryptix” Affleck would be taking a break from competition. The announcement stated that Kryptix decided to withdraw from the active roster due to personal reasons. As far as we know, Kryptix is still signed with Team Liquid and could come back to the VALORANT roster. Until we know further, Nivera will fill in for the team.
Today, @kryptixxx will be temporarily stepping away from the team to deal with some personal issues. We support James in his decision, and hope to see him back soon. pic.twitter.com/svzgs8DKC1
Team Liquid notably had an impressive showing in Masters Reykjavik though failed to qualify for Masters Berlin. The team will compete in the Last Chance Qualifier to make it to the VCT Challengers. This new iteration of the team will only have several short weeks to synergize before competing for their season. Nivera’s entry into VALORANT has been long awaited, but fans will see him make his debut in the EMEA LCQ.
