Overwatch League: Alarm named 2020 Rookie of the Year
The flex support of Philadelphia Fusion, Kim “Alarm” Kyeong-bo has been crowned the Overwatch League 2020 Rookie of the Year after numerous great plays in the past season. It’s not the first time Alarm has been in the running for a big prize, as he was also nominated for the MVP award a while back.
The winner of the Rookie of the Year award was announced during the North American All-Star tournament, where Alarm himself talked about potentially winning the award followed by his teammate “Poko” talking about playing together with him. On social media some people criticized the Overwatch League for selecting Alarm as the ROTY, saying players that are in the running for MVP (which Alarm was) shouldn’t be considered for the award.
Alarm first and foremost played for the academy team of Philadelphia Fusion, Fusion University, before being promoted to the main team in 2019. Fusion University was particularly dominant in North America Contenders before becoming T1 in Contenders Korea. In the 2020 season Alarm has continued his stellar play, showing the flexibility and awareness he brings to the Fusion roster.
