After entering the Call of Duty League with the Minnesota ROKKR, parent company Version1 has now also taken their first steps into the professional VALORANT scene.
The team will consist of Loic “effys” Sauvageau, Keven “PLAYER1” Champagne, Erik “penny” Penny, Anthony “vanity” Malaspina and Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro. The roster will be coached by Ian “Immi” Harding. Previously the roster played under the name Never Done, already making themselves known by participating in the Pittsburg Knights Monthly Gauntlet, winning the Grand Final. The roster signing comes after the first stage of the VALORANT Challengers has concluded, as Version1 will be looking to participate in the future.
The VALORANT roster will be competing under the Version1 banner following a rebrand of the parent company behind teams such as the Minnesota ROKKR. While all their other esports teams will be playing under the new name, the Minnesota ROKKR are set to keep their name within the CDL.
Brett Diamond, the COO over at Version 1, talked about entering VALORANT and why it’s important going forward on a post made to their website. “The timing is right to align our organizational initiatives under the Version1 brand. With three competitive esports teams and plans ahead for continued growth and diversification of our content, we’ve reached an important milestone.”
