Play like the Pros – Controller Settings in the Call of Duty League
While better hardware will not suddenly turn you into a much better player, it can help optimize your performance. If you are only using default settings, you often miss out on easy boosts to your gameplay. Adjustments to sensitivity or more grip on you controller can all make it easier for you to play at your best.
The professional Call of Duty League players are definitely not missing out on those things during their competition. Here are the controllers and settings of the best Call of Duty Players:
The Beaver dominates
Most players in the CDL use the Battle Beaver controller and adjust their settings to it.
Atlanta FaZe’s “aBeZy” uses a very common setup for his Battle Beaver with 6-6 sensitivity and low zoom. He also decides against an additional grip on the sides of the controller.
Controller: Battle Beaver
Sensitivity: 6-6 and 1.0 ADS (low zoom)
Response Curve: Dynamic
Button layout: Stick & Move
Flipped: Yes
Claw: No
Kontrol Freek: No
Field of View: 95 (affected)
Alternative: Scuf
If they don’t use Battle Beaver, most pros go for Scuf Gaming’s Infinity or Impact models.
OpTic Chicago’s “Envoy” uses the Impact model and has a similar setup to aBeZy. While he also passes on Kontrol Freek grips, he changes it up by using the tactical button layout.
Controller: Scuf Impact
Sensitivity: 6-6 and 1x (low zoom)
Response Curve: Standard
Button layout: Tactical
Flipped: No
Claw: No
Kontrol Freek: No
Field of View: 95
A different setup is run by “Owakening” from the Florida Mutineers. He prefers the default layout and the additional grip provided by Kontrol Freek for his games.
Controller: Scuf
Sensitivity: 6-6 and 1.0 ADS (low zoom)
Response Curve: Dynamic
Button layout: Default
Flipped: Unknown
Claw: No
Kontrol Freek: FPS Freek Edge (right stick)
Field of View: 100
Preferences are of course always individual and customized to each player. So you might not want to copy these settings directly, but they can definitely give you a starting point to take another look at your own current setup.
