Pokémon UNITE- Is the Battle Pass worth it?

Nintendo’s long-awaited MOBA is out now and plenty of players are taking their first forays to the Aeos Isle. As with many other games, UNITE comes in with two battle passes. A free one and a premium upgrade with additional rewards. You unlock the premium version through 490 gems, roughly €8,99 or $7,99. You can also purchase the first 10 levels of the battle pass in a bundle with the premium pass for 840 gems.

Main draw of the premium pass has to be the many bonus pieces for your trainer’s closet. But not only clothing is locked behind the paywall. If Pikachu-themed shoes and casual wear for your avatar are not to your fance, plenty of Pokémon skins are also part of the premium pass. Highlight here has to be Cinderace’s Captain style on the final level 90.

Aeos Tickets for a headstart

Cosmetics for trainer or Pokémon are only one part of the Premium Battle Pass. Much more impactful to your gameplay are the Aeos Ticket rewards sprinkled throughout the pass. These allow you to buy crucial items for your Pokémon and also let you upgrade those with one of the 60 rare item boosters within the pass.

So even if you are not interested in the skins of the Battle Pass, there are actually quite a lot of in-game advantages to purchasing the Premium Pass. Further incentivizing you to spend money is the launch offer of double the amount of gems on your first purchase. With that in mind the pass becomes a lot less expensive and seems almost mandatory if you want to rise to the top at a fast speed.
