Problems in Ranked Queue – Pokimane looking for VALORANT buddies

Imane “Pokimane” Anys is trying to hit that Immortal rank in VALORANT. But her Ranked Queue experience has run into some issues.

In a Tweet she said that she often runs into trouble as players tend to get weird about the streamer due to her fame or her gender.

i find my biggest issue is i don’t like to talk too much in game (ppl get weird about me being a girl / being poki), and that doesn’t work with being a sova main 🥲 and i don’t have a dependable duo to comm on my behalf ~

so i’m gonna look for one + learn solo q agents 😌

Combined with the fact that she mains Sova, she usually has to communicate with her matched teammates to fully use the recon advantage of the agent. To remedy the fact she is apparently looking for queue partners or learning other agents that are less dependant on teammates.

Toxicity in Gaming

Toxicity in games against female players is unfortunately not an exception for many players regardless of which game or genre they play in. The gaming scene and industry is still trying to deal with discrimination and toxic behaviour against minorities in many ways. Even developer studios such as Ubisoft or Activision Blizzard are not exempt from this wide-spread issue.

Here is hoping that she can soon resume her VALORANT climb without any issues.
