Professional VALORANT player NisaY banned for cheating by Riot Games
Riot Games has decided to issue a 12-month ban to Yasin “NisaY” Gök for cheating during ranked matches in VALORANT. He was also dropped from his team, Beşiktaş Esports.
Riot Games found NisaY was cheating in ranked matches and decided to issue a ban against him. NisaY has often been recognized as one of the best players on the European server, at one time standing at the top of the leaderboard. The Twitter account of the VALORANT Champions Tour Turkey spoke out about the ban. “As a result of the evaluations made by the Riot Games fraud protection team, it was determined that Nisay was cheating in a ranked match and was banned from all official Riot Games organizations for 12 months.”
12 months? that’s it? Riot professes to take cheating seriously in Valorant but when they actually catch someone they give a slap on the wrist. not good enough, Riot
In response to the ban, NisaY was dropped from his team, Beşiktaş Esports. NisaY himself responded to the ban in a longer statement he has posted to Twitter. he denies the allegations made against him and says Riot doesn’t have evidence. “I urge Riot Games to show me evidence of this third-party software I’ve allegedly used and that they were in the right when it comes to banning me.” He further alleges Riot banned him only because of suspicions from within the community.
The ban comes at a time when Riot Games has been criticized for not punishing cheaters enough after coming out with a strict policy against hacking for VALORANT. Some voices in the community said the 12-month ban is nothing but a minor slap on the wrist, while they appreciate Riot Games taking action.
