Update: Sinatraa responds to allegations of sexual assault, denies them

Yesterday professional VALORANT player Jay “Sinatraa” Won was accused of sexual assault by his ex-girlfriend. Today he responded to the allegations.

Sinatraa came under fire after his ex-girlfriend released a document containing accusations of abuse such as sexual assault and mental abuse. Today Sinatraa took to Twitter to respond, denying the accusations. “It is clear from Cleo’s recent post that she recalls our relationship differently than I do. What we do agree on is that it was unhealthy for the both of us.” Sinatraa goes on to apologize for the ways things ended in their relationship and says he’ll offer his help in the investigation.

Both Riot Games and Sinatraa’s team Sentinels have also responded to the recent accusations, suspending him. Alex Francois, the Global Head of Competitive operations at Riot Games, released a statement. “We are aware of the current situation regarding Jay Won and have launched an investigation. Per our existing competitive rules and investigative process, a decision has been made to suspend Won throughout the investigation and therefore he will not be able to compete this weekend.”

The Overwatch League, where Sinatraa played prior to his move to VALORANT, also decided to take action as they are offering refunds to everyone who wishes to trade in their Sinatraa MVP skin. The OWL also put out a short statement on the matter. “We take any allegations of this nature seriously and unequivocally support victims of abuse.”

Professional VALORANT Player Jay “Sinatraa” Won has been accused of sexual abuse by his ex-girlfriend Cleo “cle0h” Hernandez in a lengthy document.

Sinatraa is currently playing for Sentinels in VALORANT after having made the jump from VALORANT. His ex-girlfriend has accused him of sexual as well as mental abuse in a lengthy post which details everything and includes screenshots of conversations the pair have had during the time of their relationship. “I want to open by addressing things he’s said about me after our breakup and talk about the things he’s going to try and say about me when he reads this.”

Allegations of sexual and mental abuse

Hernandez talked in detail about how Sinatraa would force sex upon her and ignored her when she was hurting. She added an audio sample to the document which featured one of these occurrences, saying these kinds of things happened multiple times. “I should have fought him more. I should have physically pushed him, but he was my boyfriend. I loved him. I knew if I stood up for myself he’d leave me so I didn’t fight hard enough.”

Alonside sexual abuse claims, Hernandez also says Sinatraa was mentally abusive as well. Randomly accusing her of lying and cheating and constantly checking up on her location. “If I didn’t play his game he would get more and more upset. The other time it happened he wanted to break up because my location wasn’t at my house while I was taking a nap after work.”
