Riot Games extends partnership with Nerd Street Gamers

Riot Games have announced that Nerd Street Gamers will continue to host their VALORANT tournaments

After initially partnering with Riot to host VALORANT’s first tournament series before the announcement of the VCT, the Ignition Series, Nerd Street Gamers have since been the primary hosts of VALORANT esports. Alongside hosting their own invitationals aside from their official Riot endorsed tournaments, NSG has been an incredible asset to the early VALORANT esports scene.

Since announcing the VCT, Riot has held that though they will host major events such as Masters and Champions, the qualifiers under the Challenger title will be primarily held by third parties.  As of March 9th, Riot Games announced that NSG will continue to host Challenger two and three that will qualify teams into the future Masters events coming in June and September.

Alongside this, NSG will also be charged with running the Game Changers series. VALORANT esports has made exposure for women and marginalized groups in competitive gaming a priority. Teams like Cloud9 White and Evil Geniuses have had a near-constant presence in the qualifiers. The Game Changers series will continue this trend by increasing the volume of tournaments focused on fueling this side of the esports scene. The first qualifiers of the Game Changers series will begin on March 19th leading into the main event starting on March 25.
