Rumor: Nivera in talks to join Team Liquid’s VALORANT roster
The Belgian CS:GO player could be joining his brother on Team Liquid’s VALORANT team.
Several sources have recently reported on the possibility of Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom switching from CS:GO to VALORANT. During his CS:GO career, Nivera most notably played as Vitality’s sixth man. Though finding first place finishes in BLAST Premier and Intel Masters, Nivera was cut after several middling results in 2021. Still without a team, many have speculated that Nivera may end up on Team Liquid’s VALORANT roster.
If this move does come to fruition, Nivera will be joining his brother Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom on a roster for the first time. ScreaM has shown excellent form in Riot’s FPS and led his team to the esport’s first LAN in Iceland. Both brothers began their careers in CS:GO and have shown incredible mechanical skill and found success throughout their tenures.
If this will happen, its probably because Jamppi goes back to csgo – with the recent unban from VALVE. https://t.co/zG383vB41A
Though nothing is set in stone yet, many more speculations regarding who Nivera would replace have spread. After Valve lifted lifetime bans on several players to combat the growing number of CS players switching to VALORANT, many have suspected that Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen may rejoin his old team, ENCE. ENCE has drastically changed since Jamppi depatured as it features a far more international roster. That being said, many teams would likely welcome the FPS prodigy into their ranks.
The original members of Fish123, which was later acquiring by VALORANT, stand equal chance of being replaced should this rumor prove true. Earlier in the year when Jamppi was first announced, Adam “ec1s” Eccles was benched and eventually cut. The remaining members have significantly increased their level of play, but ultimately the addition of Nivera would be considered an upgrade by many.
