Rumors have 100 Thieves removing steel from lineup

According to journalist George Geddes, 100 Thieves are parting ways with Joshua “steel” Nissan. They will be using Aaron “b0i” Thao in the VCT Last Chance Qualifier.

It will be Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella will most likely take over the in-game leader position.

100 Thieves were eliminated in the semifinal of VCT Masters Berlin, losing to Envy. The loss against their North American rivals was tough. A win would have propelled The Thieves to the final, but the game was anything but close. According to statistics website VLR.gg, Nissan ended the event with a sub-par 0.79 K/D.

It was clear during the event steel wasn’t his usual self. He even said he “couldn’t focus” and was “drawing blanks”. 100T never got the ball rolling against Envy. They only managed to win five rounds on Haven and did marginally better on Ascent by winning eight.

Just before the story broke, steel posted some tweets, where nothing seemed to indicate the move.

Winning VCT Masters Berlin would have guaranteed a spot at Champions. Now 100T has to rely on the Last Chance Qualifier, which will send one NA team to Champions in December.

If the rumors are true, 100T will need a prime nitr0 as IGL and b0i playing lights out. But for now, this is all it is, rumors. It remains to be seen if this will be the line-up change, if any.
