After ban of 6 months – Sinatraa eligible for competitive VALORANT once again
Before the signing of Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, and even the start of the VCT era is VALORANT esports, Sentinels ran with Jay “Sinatraa” Won. Together, Sentinals consistently competed at the top of the region though fell at the first major championship. A major controversy and allegation saw Sinatraa quickly dropped from the roster.
Former Sentinels player Sinatraa's suspension has been lifted as of today.
He is free to compete in #VCT competitions, depending on whether he fulfilled the terms met in his suspension statement, issued by Riot.
Sinatraa’s ex-girlfriend accused the former OW pro of harassment and sexual assault. Her comprehensive Twitlonger included photo and audio evidence of her claims, and an internal investigation was initially launched. In the interim period, Sentinels loaned the superstar duelist, TenZ, from Cloud9. During this time, Sentinels saw unprecedented success and domination over their region and eventually signed TenZ as a full member of the roster.
The investigation of Sinatraa was largely inconclusive, however Sinatraa’s failure to cooperate with the investigation saw a lengthy competitive ban. This ban prevented Sinatraa from competing in any Riot Games sanctioned events, eliminating him from competing in the VALORANT Champions Tour. During this time, Sinatraa only streamed as a Sentinels content creator.
As of today, Sinatraa’s banned period has ended and is once again eligible to compete in the VCT. Sinatraa’s former teammates made it clear that he would not be returning to the Sentinels roster. This leaves Sinatraa as a free agent open to being signed to any new team. So far, Sinatraa has not signed with any team or stated his intention to return to competitive play. Many teams are on the verge of making the VCT Champions cut and could stand to benefit from Sinatraa’s mechanical skill and experience. Whether or not these teams will approach Sinatraa given his reputation is now the question.
