Update: Sinatraa responds to conclusion of Riot Games investigation and his suspension
Jay “Sinatraa” Won was suspended by Riot Games following allegations of sexual assault made against him. He has now responded to the suspension on Twitter.
In the statement Sinatraa starts out by saying he’s been reflecting a lot and is trying to learn from the mistakes he made in the past. “I’ve spent the last 2 months reflecting on how I can be better as a person. I’ve been a pro player for basically all of my adult life and still have a lot to improve on. I’ve been reflecting a ton during the downtime and know how much I hurt Cleo emotionally and I’m truly sorry about it.”
In the other part of the statement he talks about the alleged video/audio footage containing evidence which he said he would be providing, yet failing to do so. “I do not have the video/audio that she used in her statement. After our relationship ended she had asked me to delete the video and I honored that. I’ve never even imagined a situation like this so when it all happened I didn’t know whether to just spill out my side or not.”
Riot Games made their own statement in which they explained their reasoning behind the suspension. They would go on to say they are handing over and referring the investigation to law enforcement.

An update on Riot Games’ investigation of Jay “Sinatraa” Won has shed light on the situation and given a vital update. Formerly one of Sentinel’s star players, sexual allegations made by a former partner of Sinatraa indefinitely suspended him from competitive play. During this ban from VCT Events, Riot stated their intention to investigate these claims.

In their most recent statement Riot Games stated that “the investigation did not come to a definite conclusion on underlying allegations.” Despite making public promises to provide evidence that could conclude the investigation in his favor, Sinatraa never released the audio or video clips he referenced in a public post.
Consequently, Sinatraa was found to be in violation of rule 8.1 of the VALORANT Global Competition, failing to fully comply with tournament investigations. Sinatraa will see a further 6-month ban from VALORANT esports and will only be able to return as an eligable player near the end of Stage 3 Challengers.
Given Sentinel’s move to continue with their substitute player for Masters 2, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, it is unclear whether or not Sinatraa will find a position on his old team. Even before the investigation concluded, Sinatraa had made several appearances on teammate’s streams and hinted at his own return to Twitch. While Sinatraa’s career is up in the air, Sentinel’s hints at an ‘extended agreement’ with Cloud9 for the loan of TenZ may point that the team will move away from Sinatraa.
