This year is certainly a celebratory year for the Street Fighter franchise, which goes on to celebrate their 35th anniversary in 2022. In a new trailer that was published, we got our first sneak peek at the upcoming Street Fighter 6 title, but aside from some visuals and character models, we didn’t get a lot else yet. In any case, fans have been waiting quite a while for the newest game in the franchise.
Looking at the trailer there’s at least one thing we can conclude. It seems Capcom is taking Street Fighter 6 in a more ‘realistic’ direction, at least visually. The trailer itself didn’t feature any gameplay yet, so we’ll have to wait a little while longer. Fans are hoping that the Street Fighter 6 release (and subsequent gameplay) will be a little more polished, after issues arose with the release of Street Fighter 5, which were only fixed in later patches and additional releases.
The new Street Fighter game wasn’t the only thing Capcom announced, as they also showed the Capcom Fighting Collection. It’s a compilation which features 10 classic fighting games and is set to release on June 24 2022.
