Svenskeren announces he has not found a team for the 2022 LCS season
Svenskeren announced on Twitter that he has been unable to secure a starting spot on an LCS team for the 2022 competitive season. The Danish jungler has competed in North America since 2016, marking the first time in six years that he will not start on an LCS roster at the beginning of the season.
In his Twitlonger statement, Svenskeren states “NA has been my home for the past six years and it’s sad to think that last summer might have been my last time playing there.” Svenskeren has not given up hope however, as though he is not starting in the LCS at the moment, the 25-year-old jungler writes “I’m still very dedicated and I know that I’m still good enough. I want to keep playing in NA as I love living and playing there.”
Near the beginning of the offseason Svenskeren’s former team, Evil Geniuses, was quick to pick up Inspired from Rogue. The Polish jungler had an outstanding year in the LEC and was a continually driving force in the European squad. In the previous year, EG had juggled both Contractz and Svenskeren as its starting jungler to various degrees of success.
The team has seemingly opted for a one-jungler solution, releasing both Svenskeren and Contractz. Svenskeren began his LCS career on TSM, where he was apart of three total LCS Championship runs. After his two year stint on Cloud9, Svenskeren ended up on Evil Geniuses where he found only middling results. The Danish jungler seems intent on remaining in North America, as a return to Europe either through the LEC and ERLs were not discussed.
