Team Liquid brings on Guilhoto as its new LCS Head Coach

Team Liquid officially announced that it will bring on André Pereira Guilhoto as the team’s Head Coach for the 2022 LCS Spring Split. The Portuguese coach has competed in both Europe and North America. Coaching Origen and Schalke 04 in the LEC, Guilhoto completed his first year in the LCS after helming the Immortals squad.

Team Liquid have brought in three new players into its starting roster. Bjergsen, Bwipo, and Hans Sama are all projected to join the North American organization. Though none of these roster moves have been confirmed by team or player, the coaching positions are set.

As the coach for Immortals, Guilhoto led the team to two consecutive seventh place finishes in both the Spring and Summer season. Immortals managed to pick up one win in the LCS 2021 Championship before falling.

Team Liquid saw a major coaching change in the middle of its Spring Split. After a dispute between Joshua “Jatt” Leesman and Barney “Alphari” Morris, the previous head coach departed from the roster. In his stead, Jonas “Kold” Andersen took up the mantle.

As the interim head coach, Kold managed to lead Team Liquid to a second place finish in the Summer Split Finals and a 3-3 Worlds record. Kold will remain on the team as the assistant coach, working alongside Guilhoto as he enters the team.

Reworking both the starting roster and coaching staff, Team Liquid certainly have a new look entering into 2022. The four time LCS Champions have failed to find its fifth trophy since 2019, though are crafting a team to compete once again.
