Team Liquid (led by NAF) eliminate Evil Geniuses from BLAST Premier Global Finals 2020
We saw Team Liquid take on Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket of the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020, while Natus Vincere took on G2 Esports.
Team Liquid had a pretty decent showing in the tournament so far, beating NaVi 2-0 before falling to Vitality in two close games, as Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo seems to be working well within the team. Now Liquid has convincingly defeated Evil Geniuses in the lower bracket, sending them home with a 2-0 series. Especially Keith “NAF” Markovic has been on fire lately, helping Liquid Dominate EG on Dust II. Earlier he was also pivotal in the series against NaVi.
Further in the lower bracket we find the series between G2 Esports and Natus Vincere, which didn’t turn out great for G2. Natus Vincere went on to win a simple 2-0 series with a fast 16-6 match on Train and a 16-9 on Mirage, the latter being a little closer. G2 Esports has to return home, while both Team Liquid and Natus Vincere move on to the next round of the lower bracket, facing each other later today to qualify for the lower bracket final.
In the upper bracket final we find Astralis and Vitality, who will also be playing today. Both Astralis and Vitality have looked like the strongest teams in the tournament so far, so it’ll be an interesting series for sure. Both the lower bracket final and Grand Final are expected to be played tomorrow.
