The 5 most improved CS:GO players in 2021

S1mple

He’s been a star for many years already. Known for consistently being great and dropping crazy numbers throughout his career, Aleksandr “S1mple” Kostyliev is seen as one of the best players in the history of the game. However this year marked the first time S1mple has won a Major, whilst also dropping the best HLTV 2.0 rating of his career on both LAN and the Major.

Torzsi

Climbing the ladder is always hard. We’ve already highlighted this player in the young players to watch article, but since then Ádám “Torzsi” Torzsás has actually been promoted to the main MOUZ line-up. His performance has been stellar in the past year, whilst being even better in the past three months. His career so far has been relatively short, but already showing such growth and promise could only mean that MOUZ has once again found a new rising star to help develop. Their scouting once more shows the value of investing in young players.

Smooya

The English powerhouse has been around for quite some years, playing in many different teams before recently finding a place in Fnatic. Owen “Smooya” Butterfield is a mere 22 years old but has made 2021 the best online and overall performance of his career. The lack of LAN games made it harder to show promise there too, but this new step in Smooya’s career seems to be yet another stepping stone in his growth to become another British star. Will he help Fnatic rise to the top once more?

FASHR

It is good to look in to the somewhat unknown and see what relatively anonymous players can do. Dion “FASHR” Derksen is a Dutch player that tries to rise out of a scene that knows just a few stars, such as ChrisJ and Cruc1al as of late. Known for his strong worth ethic, FASHR joined up with Lyngby Vikings early 2021, which kickstarted his international journey which has since then given him the most HLTV listed matches of his career and a lot of personal growth. Despite the amount of stronger opponents, FASHR has been able to put up his best numbers in the past three months, despite the lack of his always stronger LAN games.

Ropz

A big measurement of growth is seeing someone become to good for their own team. Robin “Ropz” Kool has had an individually strong year and has just been announced to join up with FaZe Clan. With a lengthy stay at MOUZ now over, it is time to see what Ropz can do with another international roster in the coming year. With 2021 already being a good one, the adaptation shouldn’t come to hard for the 22 year old.
