The International 10 has the new largest prize pool in esport history

The Dota 2 community has done it yet again. Surpassing last year’s The International, which offered $34,330,068 to the best teams in the world, TI10 is now officially the new record holder.

Although the tournament has been indefinitely postponed to next year, the Dota 2 community has raised another record sum for the history books.

Once again the crowdfunding via Battle Pass has paid its dividends to Valve as players forked over money for exclusive skins, emotes, voicelines and more. With the deadline set on September 19 the prize pool still has room to grow and might just break past the $35 million soon. Especially considering that some of the rewards are still not implemented to the game yet.

With last year’s record broken the next milestones for TI10’s prize pool are $35 and $40 million. Valve has also offered free levels for every Battle Pass owner should the crowdfunding soar past those goals.

It is still unknown when or how The International 10 is taking place, as the COVID19-pandemic had put an indefinite end to the Dota Pro Circuit earlier this year. Regardless of those circumstances Dota 2 continues to be the esport with the highest prize pool.
