Riot Games announced a couple of games in recent years. These include VALORANT, Wild Rift and Ruined King, which are all out already. But their MMORPG, often also called “Project F” still is in progress. So, what is the current status of the upcoming LoL game?
When will Project F release?
There is no official release date for the game yet. But it will probably take some time, since the team is still in the early stages of development. However, it is quite possible that Riot Games will soon give out more information about their MMORPG.
The League of Legends MMORPG
Riot Games announced several games at the end of 2019. They talked about VALORANT, but also their future Fighter game and an MMORPG. Some of the games they announced back then have now been released. But there seem to be no news about their MMO yet. Nevertheless, they made one thing clear: Project F will take place in the LoL universe.
Characters and Classes
So, what does this mean for the characters in game? We will probably meet some familiar faces. Particularly popular League of Legends Champions like Ahri or Akali will certainly be seen in Project F. But there is one Champion we can be sure of. Blitzcrank was already seen in the short gameplay section about Riots games.
In addition, it is already known that there will be different classes, like in many other MMOs. If we still keep LoL in mind, we might be talking about classes like Tanks, Mages, Fighters, Slayers and Controllers. Also, subgroups, such as Assassins might be implemented.
Regions and the map
Since the MMORPG is located in the LoL universe, we can assume that the cities and towns refer to it as well. Riot Games luckily has put a lot of work into the stories and backgrounds of their champions in the past, so that the world of Runeterra became quite popular.

What about raids?
Lead Producer Greg Street has already announced that there will be raids, as in other MMOs. The LoL MMORPG raids are supposed to be the most important part of the end game according to Street. He himself was once a member of the World of Warcraft development team and therefore is attached to dungeons and raids.
