The Warzone friend list is bugged (& how you can fix it)

It seems like the troubles with bugs and crashes aren’t going away for Warzone in 2022, as a bug involving the friends list has been popping up a lot lately. The bug, which has been reported as far back as 2019, sees players’ friend lists disappear, leaving them unable to add their friends or create parties to play together online. There are however ways to work around it and fix the issue, however.

Fixing the issue

On PC, first make sure your game is fully updated and then restart the entire game. If that doesn’t work (or if you just don’t feel like restarting the game), there’s a workaround involving the Discord integration of the game, where you can use Discord to join the party of one of your friends. On Xbox and PlayStation, first close out your game and again check for updates to make sure you’re running the latest version. Then load back into the game.

Most of the issues seem to be caused by you and your friends having different versions of the game, which may lead to compatibility issues. Another bug sees many of your friends being reported as ‘offline’ while they’re in fact still playing. If this is the case, you’ll still be able to invite them, so make sure to try that out as well.
