VALORANT Champion Tour: Who makes it to Berlin

North America proved their prowess in the international stage during Masters Reykjavik. Now, NA will compete once again to determine who will fill the three available slots of Masters Berlin. Unlike the last tournament, NA will be able to send three teams to compete for immensely more VCT points. The domestic competition is absolutely stacked with talent, but here is who we think has the best chances at advances.

Sentinels still on top – The two time VCT Champions?

Sentinels have time and time again proven themselves as the best team in the World. After dominating domestically, the squad went on to prove themselves internationally as well, not dropping a single map in their flawless Masters Reykjavik run. Players like Tyson “TenZ” Ngo have put up consistent highlight reel worth performances, but their entire roster are among the best players in VALORANT currently.

The Masters Champions are going in the most likely to win it all once again and qualify for the top seed in Masters Berlin. The squad did have a slight slip-up against Xset in their qualifying tournament which found their first series loss in the last 17 games. Sentinels almost immediately recovered, defeating that same team 3-1 in the grand finals. Considering that at least four of their full five-man squad consistently land in the top for K/D, ACS, and overall rating, its hard to imagine Sentinels missing out.

Sentinels have already qualified for VCT Champions, however one more Masters win would greatly help their seeding and reputation going in.

100 Thieves – Finally their time to shine?

100 Thieves once stood at the top of the VALORANT esports scene, before the start of the VCT era. After winning First Strike, 100 Thieves saw a slow and steady decline and have trended to do well in qualifying tournaments, but fall flat in the playoffs. 100 Thieves have now been given months to prepare and seem more ready than ever to finally make an international event.

Peter “Asuna” Mazyurk has consistently competed with top players from around the North American scene and fell only behind TenZ in ACS (246), K/D (1.22), and overall rating in the Challengers 1 event. The rest of his squad need to be able to keep up a consistent performance. 100 Thieves find themselves on the ‘favorable’ side of the bracket, facing off against FaZe Clan first. While it has been awhile since 100 Thieves has been NA’s best team, they could stand at the top again.

TSM – The old kings coming back

TSM have been a name in VALORANT since the dawn of the esports scene, but have only recently started to ‘come back.’ TSM had one of the best performances in a qualifying tournament to date, as they defeated several playoff worthy teams in a convincing manner to stay in the upper bracket for the entirety of their run.

The old faces of the team, such as Matthew “Wardell” Yu and Yasine “Subroza” Taoufik have meshed incredibly well with the ‘new guard’ of the team while regaining some of their old confidence. Should TSM keep up their momentum, they could easily be one of NA’s three representatives.
