Just days ago, Riot Games announced a collaboration with well-known DJ, Zedd. Both parties posted ominous pictures on their respective Twitters that hinted at a VALORANT skin line collaboration. VALORANT hosts countless skins, however this marks the first major collaboration with a figure outside of Riot Games or the immediate esports space.
The Spectrum skin line, the official name of the collaboration, was revealed today. VALORANT showcased the wide variety of skins, VFX, and finishing animations. The skin line includes the Guardian, Bulldog, Phantom, Classic, and knife. This skin line offers a very unique take on weapon animations and features.
Every gun featured in the Spectrum skin line has its own audio played during firing, reloading, and ending a round. The finishing animation lights up the entire map’s sky and flashes the iconic DJ’s emblem along with an extended audio clip. The Classic example shows this off well.
Zedd, along with being a world renowned DJ, is also a known VALORANT player and enthusiast. This collaboration was long in the making. Zedd’s Spectrum skin line was teased earlier in the year with the Year One anthem. Zedd reportedly took a great deal of effort in hand crafting every weapon’s feel and audio design.
Similar to other weapons and skins, the Spectrum line offers several different levels of customization with unlockable tiers. The line is also accompanied by a Spectrum gun buddy, spray, and player card. The bundle’s total cost is 10,700 VP and is available right now on the VALORANT shop for a limited time.
