Valve fixes Trust Factor in CS:GO – Will the surge in cheaters end now?

Spinbots, Wallhacks or Triggershots: Counter-Strike players have always had to struggle with dishonest players on their servers. But in recent times there seems to have been a spike in cheaters. Now developer Valve has said that many of the issues seem to have been due to Trust Factor not working as it should have.

But even with Trust Factor re-enabled cheating is still an issue. Streamers have been complaining that because of their usage of third-party software they were unable to use Trusted Mode in-game. This results in many streams unfortunately featuering cheaters, a less than ideal way to showcase the game to potential new players.

Trusted Mode is preventing other software from interacting with CS:GO to prevent cheating. But it also means that streaming software such as OBS or Streamlabs cannot access it either. An issue that is still not resolved by Valve.

But the larger problem remains the high number of cheaters in-game. Even with Trust Factor players have been reporting dishonest players in their matches. Just like any other shooter that can be played online, it is an eternal arms race between cheat developers and game developers.
