Vanguard players want counter to annoying incendiary grenades

The first season of Vanguard has brought a plethora of new content for Call of Duty players. From Operators skins to weapons, the sheer amount of content released during Vanguard’s relatively short lifespan has been massive. One unlockable has been on the mind of nearly every Vanguard player, however not necessarily in a good way.

Earlier in the year, players reported that games were too focused on explosive grenades and mortars. Incendiary grenades were added to combat this issue, though created a wide array of problems on its own. Now players in match making are often created by fire and smoke, resulting in incredibly low visibility throughout the course of a match. Smaller maps have especially been impacted by the growing prevalence of incendiaries.

This game needs thermal scopes or something to see through smoke. from CODVanguard

Some Vanguard players on Reddit have come up with several unique solutions to the problem of low visibility. Redditor SubZeroZeusYT brought up the idea of bringing back thermal scopes for weapons. This attachment was featured in several classic Call of Duty games such as Advanced Warfare though have not been seen in quite some time.

The addition of thermal scopes would not clear the mass amounts of smoke and fire, though would allow players to see through the low visibility. Not a total fix, this change would certainly make games more manageable for players frustrated with incendiary grenades.

There is a major issue with including thermal scopes, as Vanguard is clearly set in World War II. These scopes did not exist then an would be a blatant anachronism. Still, players are searching for potential solutions to the grenade problem.
