Virtus.pro kept their hot streak alive as they went on to win cs_summit 7, beating Fnatic in the finals and eliminating mousesports and Ninjas in Pyjamas along the way.
After ending on top of their group after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas and FURIA with a convincing 2-0 score, Virtus.pro qualified for the quarterfinals. From there on out their dominance continued, not dropping a single map throughout the entire tournament. After wins against Ninjas in Pyjamas and mousesports, once again with a 2-0 score, they faced Fnatic in the Grand Final. The first map, Inferno, turned into quite a close affair but Virtus.pro was able to pull through with a 16-14 win. The second map was Vertigo, where both teams traded blows in the first half, ending at a 8-7 score. Virtus.pro blew out Fnatic in the second half with a strong performance and secured their title.
Virtus.pro has been running hot lately after winning season 2 of Flashpoint and DreamHack Open December 2020 at the end of last year. They entered cs_summit 7 with quite a bit of confidence and were able to add another title to their list of wins, showing that their roster, led by Russian Dzhami “Jame” Ali, has accumulated quite a bit of confidence and hasn’t reached their skill ceiling yet. Virtus.pro currently sits at the tenth position on the HLTV ranking.
