Vitality sweep NiP in IEM Winter 2021 finals

Team Vitality capped off their IEM Winter 2021 tournament with a trophy lift as the team decimated NiP in the grand finals. After being defeated by Na’Vi in the BLAST Fall Finals, the French CS:GO team found redemption in the following tournament. Far and away the top team in the tournament, Vitality only dropped a single series in their entire run.

This win marks Vitality’s first tournament win of 2021. After such a long road, here is how Vitality won their first trophy of the year.

Vitality obliterate NiP in the Grand Finals

Ninjas In Pyjamas entered this game after upsetting G2 Esports, playing with a substitute as their star fragger, Device, was out of commission. Though finding a win in a tight semi-final series, this luck did not follow them to the finals.

Vitality kicked off the Bo5 with a strong showing on Inferno (16-10). Though marginally trailing at the half, a seven round win streak on T-side all but locked the game in Vitality’s favor. Dust2 (16-10) saw a similar result, as with the help of Shox and ZywOo the team came alive int he second half to push NiP to match point.

NiP managed to keep up with Vitality for a majority of Nuke, though ultimately fell to the sweep (16-13). ZywOo was undoubtedly the MVP of the series, proving once again why he is considered among the best players to touch CS:GO. ZywOo finished the relatively short series with 70 frags and 1.41 overall rating.
