Warzone players rally against updates that slow down ADS speed
In Call of Duty, no matter the title, new metas emerge and dissipate in a very cyclical manner. As some weapons prevail as the best in class, developers make changes to keep the game fresh and open diverse playstyles for all players. Now, it seems that for Warzone Raven Softwares seeks to attempt a general change to all weapons.
As mentioned before, we will be decreasing base ADS Speeds across all titles. This will increase Time to Kill slightly as ADS times should be considered when calculating practical TTK values. Additionally, it'll give us room to emphasize the differences between Weapon classes.
Warzone developers intend to raise the time-to-kill of all weapons. The TTK refers to how quickly a weapon can eliminate an opponent. An increase to every weapon’s TTK would be a general buff to all weapons, however this is coming a fairly significant cost that players are not happy with.
Raven Software announced their intention in a recent Tweet, writing “As mentioned before, we will be decreasing base ADS Speeds across all titles. This will increase Time to Kill slightly as ADS times should be considered when calculating practical TTK values,” the developers stated “Additionally, it’ll give us room to emphasize the differences between Weapon classes.”
How does decreasing the ADS speed of ALL guns help with TTK?
This just favors people that camp and pre-aim. Am I missing something or is this the stupidest idea? https://t.co/neKdngzgC7
Many pro players and streamers have disputed Raven Software’s claims, questioning how reducing ADS could relate to TTK. NYSL player Aydan responded stating the change only favors those who preaim and camp, essentially creating a peakers advantage in Warzone.
Others have echoed Aydan’s sentiment, pushing for Warzone developers to instead focus on changing the actual damage of bullets instead of attempting a more rippling effect. Despite the fact that many agree that reducing ADS is not the solution, Raven Software seem to be going through with their plan.
