Warzone – Season 3 Reloaded shakes up the Weapon Meta

Season 3 Reloaded have not only introduced the Rambo and Die Hard collaborations. Many weapons have also been adjusted to shake up the current meta.

What about the new weapons?

To kick off the list of weapons we start with the new Ballistic Knife in Warzone. However it is more a gimmick than an actual viable weapon similar to the crossbow. If you hit a headshot with the Ballistic Knife you can take down your opponents in one hit, otherwise you need two hits.

The AMP63 was also announced and will be implemented into the game over the next couple of days. The fully automatic pistol packs 30 bullets and an Akimbo option that make it quite dangerous in close quarter combat.

Many changes for Cold War weapons

However the changes to the already implemented Cold War weapons are much more interesting. In an attempt to make more weapons viable the developers might have overshot the mark.

For the machine pistols they adjusted the AK-57u and the new PPSh-41. While they reduced the range and bullet speed of the small AK to combat its long range abilities, they also buffed the close quarter attributes. You can use the weapon faster after sprinting and now gain 1.4-times bonus damage on hits on the neck

The PPSh-41 was one of the worst machine pistols in the game on release. In desperate need of buffs the developers increased the base damage from 27 to 28, reducing the hits required to kill opponents with full armor by one. This change brings the Time-to-Kill in line with the MP5 or the AK47, to make it even better the range was also buffed. It would not be surprising to see the PPSh-41 used much more often now.

Another important change to keep in mind are the adjustments to the supressor attachment. While it reduces your range it also increases aim speed, sprint-to-fire time and bullet velocity.

Cold War sniper changes

The majority of changes have been implemented for sniper rifles. All laser attachments were reworked to be more in line with Modern Warfare snipers. The best attachments seems to be the SWAT 5mw laser sight, which improves your aim speed and stability.

The weapons themselves were also adjusted:

  • The M82 now has a faster bullet speed, but the developers also increased the time between shots.
  • The LW3 – Tundra’s aiming stability has been increased and could now become the new weapon of choice coupled with the improved laser attachments.
  • The Swiss K31 was useless on release and has seen some bufs as compensation. Now the rifle is faster, more stable and has less aim punch if you get hit. These changes turn the Swiss into a viable alternative to the Kar98.
  • The ZRG 20mm has seen a hit to its mobility. But now you can shoot through thicker walls and deal more damage on bodyshots.

Season 3 Reloaded has introduced plenty of more changes. You can find the full patchnotes here.
