What is Bunny Hopping?
Those who’ve been around for quite a while will need no introduction to the mechanics, as it was the way to go in early Counter-Strike years. To explain it bluntly, if you jump again when almost at the end of a previous jump, you’ll keep your momentum. In CS:GO, it’s currently the fastest way to get around, even compared to running with a knife, but it’s not all that easy to do and learn.
How to do it
Face it, you’re going to struggle at first. There’s a lot of things that could, literally, trip you up, such as server speeds for and tick rate for example. To Bunny Hop most people prefer to assign jump to mouse wheel down and mouse wheel up, as it’s easier and faster to do than working with the standard space bar (although it’s possible still). Check out the video for further reference.
Once you’ve got everything down you can start experimenting with it and add some strafing to the mix. Aside from getting you where you need to be faster, the Bunny Hop can also be a helpful way to make you a harder to reach target.
