Loop Hero is the newest game on the block and it has been winning people over with its unique concept and clever game mechanics.
Loop Hero, new game from developer Four Quarters and publisher Devolver Digital, is the newest indie title that’s been winning over people’s hearts. The Roguelike game is uniquely simple in concept, but also features elements from card games, city builders, puzzle games and autobattlers. In the game you follow a hero who is stuck in a loop as you (rather passively) guide him through an ever-changing landscape.
You as the player basically have no control over things like combat, but you do hold influence over it. You control gear and upgrades which you can assign to the hero, while you’re also able to use cards to change the terrain, spawn monsters, and much more. These cards can often be used in tandem or as a combo with others, opening up a lot of possibilities and replay value.
If there’s one thing Loop Hero has absolutely nailed down it’s the core mechanics and using them to keep you as the player fully engaged, wanting more as your decisions directly influence your fate. There’s a lot to explore with Loop Hero and, much like the game itself, it has many players stuck in a gameplay loop of their own.
