What to expect from the Singapore Major’s Wild Card stage

In just a few days from now, professional Dota 2 action will start off once more with the wild card stage of the Singapore Major.

Six teams in the form of PSG.LGD, AS Monaco Gambit, Team Liquid, Team Nigma, Vici Gaming and T1 will face off in a round robin format. It is bound to be a spectacular fight, since of these six amazing teams, only the two best will move on to the group stage.

Any favorites?

With many teams not having faced international competition since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, it is hard to say who are the favorites. PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming are always dangerous of course, their Chinese discipline always coming in clutch. Or will the Dark Horse from South East Asia called T1 make use of their home advantage to take some surprising wins against more famous opponents?

Some teams have it even more difficult however. While Team Nigma is known to be a formidable opponent with four TI winners in their squad, they are unable to field the full team as, due to a Covid-19 infection, MinD_ContRoL will not be able to attend the event. That means that Nigma’s coach RMN needs to take his place in the offlane. While we have seen RMN standin for KuroKy with great success in the past. MinD_ContRoL’s offlane position is something entirely different, something that might prove a lot more challenging.

Nonetheless, all six teams worked hard to get to this position. So you can expect all six teams to work even harder in securing that top two position in this wildcard stage. Fireworks are guaranteed.
