League of Legends has already added its first new Champion of 2022 in Zeri, an electrifying Zaunite ADC. In the 2022 Season Opener, Riot Games made it clear that Zeri will not be the only champion added to the ever growing roster of playable characters in 2022. Three total other champions were referenced in their own ominous ways.
The 159th champion added to League of Legends will be a support enchanter character with some significant twists. Most enchanters, a subclass of character defined by healing and shielding abilities, have typically echoed the same thematic aesthetics. Dominated by bubbly personalities such as Lux, Lulu, Sona, and more, this new enchanter will diverge from this archetype.
Similar to Zeri, the upcoming support champion will be from Zaun. As a region, character hailing from this in-game location typically have a much grimier and darker aesthetic than the typical enchanter. Confirmed by Riot developers, this champion will feature a much more sinister story and aesthetic to bring some diversity to the enchanter role.
The only image released of the champion is a mechanical like hand that has already sparked rumors. Many believe that this character could relate to the latest League of Legends inspired animated series, Arcane. The prevailing belief is that the character is the chem Baron Corina Veraza, a character only briefly mentioned though is set to make waves in the next season.
Though this is unconfirmed, the champion is set to release after the full launch of Zeri, sometime later in the 2022 season.
