What we’ve learned from the PGL Stockholm Legends Stage
The PGL Stockholm Major 2021 Legends phase has wrapped up, all eight teams qualifying. The Copenhagen Flames, FaZe Clan, Entropiq, ENCE, Virtus.pro, Astralis, MOUZ, and Heroic have all advanced into the Major’s main event. Though many of the favorites escaped the Legends stage, the group still saw some major shakeups.
With all teams now qualified for the Champions Stage, this is what we can glean from the first week of competition in the PGL Stockholm Major.
Don’t count anyone out (Especially the Copenhagen Flames)
The Challengers Stage was filled with upsets, though the Copenhagen Flames were potentially the biggest surprise out of the first week. The Danish squad managed to defeat both Astralis and Heroic, making them the first team to qualify for Champions.

Far from an underdog, FaZe Clan entered the tournament while on the downward trend. FaZe have seemingly recovered from their lackluster performances, dominating and quickly qualifying themselves for Legends. Moving into the next stage, the slates are wiped clean though these teams are not to be taken likely.
There are no favorites
Though two teams escaped undefeated, everyone else in the tournament thus far have proven themselves fallible. Even the four time Major winners, Astralis, lost out on their first day. Heroic and Virtus.pro, though ultimately qualifying, struggled in their first few showings.
Moving into the Champions stage, there are no clear favorites. Favorites have fallen both during and before the Legends stage. ‘Super teams’ have largely dissipated and this Major truly seems like anyone’s to win.
