Stewie2K has been dropping more and more hints that he might be eyeing up a future in the Riot Games shooter, albeit not immediately. During one of his recent streams he said “I’m not making the switch, but I will eventually”. Again, during a watch party of VCT Challengers 3 NA with Shroud and Tarik, he again talked about making the switch to VALORANT down the line.
If he does switch from CS:GO to VALORANT down the line, it could have some implications for the CS:GO scene in North America, a scene that has been seemingly on the decline for quite a while, with big NA teams preferring to play and scrim in Europe. VALORANT on the other hand has been booming in North America and all the best teams seem to be located there right now.
During his stream he did say that he would have a lot of catching up to do, having not played the game in quite a while. “I’ll for sure be playing a lot. I’m going to be playing for like a month or two straight where no one knows I’m playing. As soon as I make the switch, I’ll be ready to go.”
